He was born Feb. 4, 1953, in Clay County, as the son of Robert E. Jr. and Marie M. Hardman. He graduated from Brazil High School. He was employed at Great Dane Trailers and then employed by the State of Indiana. He served in the U.S. Army until his honorable discharge in June 1973. He was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in Brazil. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing and horseshoes.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by one daughter, Rachel Hardman, Indianapolis, five brothers, Walter J. Hardman and wife Sonja, California, Robert A. Hardman and wife Kris, Florida, Pat Hardman, Brazil, his twin brother, Ronald W. Hardman and wife Edyith, Carbon, and John D. Hardman, Harmony, two sisters, Helen Crawford, Plainfield and Mary E. Hardman and fiancée Bill Cormican, Brazil, and several nieces and nephews.
