The Parke County Non-Partisan Committee on Political Education will conduct a meeting on "Property Taxes -- Follow up to the June Meeting," at 9 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 23, at the Parke County Fairground Extension Office Conference Room.
The meeting will provide a forum where residents may ask questions about property taxes.
Mark Spelbring from the Parke County Extension Office will present information concerning the impact of the new state property tax legislation.
Commissioner Jim Meece will discuss the impact of the legislation and revenues on the county government from the commissioners' perspective.
In addition, Katie Potter of the Parke County Assessor's Office will discuss the assessment system and Parke County Treasurer Mary Alice Gregg will speak on tax bills and the information contained in them.
The public is welcome to attend the meeting.
