We were terribly saddened to learn of the passing of Don Newby. He was a wonderful person who will be missed by everyone who knew him. We extend our deepest sympathy to his wife Lu, his family, and the Staunton First Christian Church, where he was a devoted member.

STAUNTON FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH

Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m., with worship service following at 10:30 a.m. Doug Parkey is the minister.

If you need transportation to morning worship service, please phone the church office at 446-3211; the bus is wheelchair equipped. Children's Church and Wee Worship are at 10:30 a.m. in the Educational Building. Sunday evening service and youth groups meet at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday evening Bible Study and Prayer Group meets at 7 p.m..

Anniversary greetings go out to Tony and Linda Payton. Happy Birthday wishes to Jim Bowman.

Our church family wishes to extend our Christian sympathy to the family of Don Newby, who passed away on Monday, Aug. 18. His devotion to his church and his faith will long be remembered. He will be sorely missed.

STAUNTON UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

Sunday School is at 9:30 a.m. Church service begins at 10:30 a.m. David Brown is our Pastor and his wife Elaine brings the Children's Message. Glenna Simons is the pianist.

Happy birthday to Amy Nussel on Aug. 25.

Remember that the Community Food Pantry is open in the church's basement the last two Wednesday afternoons of each month from 3-5 p.m. The next Food Pantry day will be next Wednesday. Anyone in the Staunton area in need of help is welcome.

Please remember to keep praying for everyone who is battling illness, as well as all the brave men and women of our military and their families. Also remember in prayer all the folks in nursing homes and hospitals, and those who have lost loved ones. Go out of your way to be kind to someone, and pray for everyone.
