Northview's tennis team continued to improve its season record on Tuesday evening with a third consecutive 8-0 win.
One night following a convincing win on the road against White River Valley, the Knights returned to their own friendly courts to dispatch visiting Danville.
The junior varsity team remained unbeaten as well, getting wins from Sam Miller, Caleb Andrews and a hard fought victory by Max Short.
Coach Mark Orr pointed out the strong play of his junior varsity as well as his varsity against the Warriors.
"Caleb and Andrew continue to steadily improve," said Orr. "We're going to rotate Sam (Miller) into the varsity lineup occasionally.
"Caleb Andrews is a very good athlete and even though he's new to tennis, we really look forward to seeing what he can do for us next year."
In varsity singles play, Austin Akers scored a 6-1, 6-1 win over Chris Miller.
"What can you really say about Austin? He's just a very steady player," said Orr.
At No. 2 singles, Clint Reynolds scored a 6-2, 6-3 victory against Kyle Fox and Carson Kleiber was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at No. 3 singles against Justin Parent.
"Clint has really played better the last couple of matches," said Assistant Coach Shawn Hughes. "He seems to have really found his game."
In doubles play, Joey Thomas and Trent Sims scrapped and fought their way back from a one set deficit to win in a 1-6, 6-2, 6-4 decision against Nick Cheesman and Michael Skiles.
"I give our No. 2 doubles team a lot of credit," said Orr. "They got focused and fought back."
The No. 1 doubles team had less trouble with their opponents.
Caleb Mershon and Matt Nodley won a 6-2, 6-3 decision against Phillip Baldwin and Matt Hollars.
Over the weekend, the Knights won a 5-0 decision at home against Brown County.
"Austin, Clint and Carson played well and gave up very few games to their opponent," commented Orr. "The doubles teams showed a lot of promise for playing together for the first time.
"Miller and Thomas looked in control of their match from the onset. The way we are starting to play will make us a team to contend with us by the end of the season."
Northview (3-2 overall) travels to Linton on Sept. 3 beginning at 5 p.m.
