Area elementary hosting first responders brunch

Wednesday, August 27, 2008

Every day, men and women in Clay County put their lives on the line for people that they may not know.

These men and women are firefighters, police officers and EMT personnel who are first responders to any scene.

Jackson Township Elementary is honoring these individuals by holding a First-Responders Brunch on Sept. 11, 2008, at 9 a.m.

"We want to honor the first responder personnel in our community," Jackson Township Elementary Principal Jeff Fritz told The Brazil Times. "It is a way for students to see the character qualities modeled in people in the community."

"This is a way for the school to show respect to these special individuals, and what better day to do that then on Sept. 11." Fritz said.

Contact the school at (812) 986-2177 by Aug. 29 for reservations.
