TERRE HAUTE -- The Men of Note Band and Claudia return to Fairbanks Park for the second appearance of the "Dancing Under The Stars" on Saturday, from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Mathew Balensuela, DePauw University Professor of Music, will be featured. Dr. Balensuela will perform a flute solo in the popular Swingin' Shepard Blues.
In addition to flute, he plays alto saxophone and clarinet.
He is a graduate of Juliard School of Music in New York, Bowling Green University in Ohio, and Indiana University.
In addition to being and outstanding instrumentalist, he is a music theory and literature scholar.
The Men of Note Band and Claudia will continue their big band style, playing Glenn Millers "Little Brown Jug," Henry Mancini's "Hangin' Out," Artie Shaw's "Begin the Beguine" and Les Brown's "Sentimental Journey," also other arrangements of well-known songs popular during the World War II era.
Dancers as well as listeners are welcome. There is ample space to dance. George Graesch, retired ISU Director of Bands, in the leader.
