Northview tennis shuts out Linton

LINTON -- The Northview tennis team dropped Linton by a 5-0 score on Wednesday evening.

The Knights didn't drop a set in the match, winning in identical 6-2, 6-2 scores at No. 1 and No. 2 singles and taking a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 3.

Austin Akers was a winner at No. 1 singles over Seth Herndon and Clint Reynolds won at No. 2 over Kris Shipman. Carson Kleiber on at No. 3 over Taylor Sloan.

In doubles action, Matt Nodley teamed with Caleb Mershon to defeat Merrick McBride and Chase Rhotin, 7-6, 6-4.

At No. 2 doubles, Joey Thomas and Caleb Andrews won 6-3, 6-0 over Kyle Cooper and Luke Knight.

The junior varsity players remained unbeaten as Max Short won in singles play and Trent Sims teamed with Sam Miller to win.

Northview hosts Greencastle on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
