Karen Stearley said the Center Point Community Fall Festival Committee hopes to have as large a crowd at the festival this year as they had last year.
"We were very pleased," Stearley said of last year's inaugural festival and its turnout. "That's what we want."
The Center Point Community Fall Festival has been scheduled for Sept. 13, on Main Street in the town.
Stearley said a group formed after the town celebrated its sesquicentennial in 2006.
"We thought why not keep this going," Stearley said. "People had a good time. We decided to have it in September because you have nicer weather.
"We try to keep things simple and keep it fun."
Several events are planned during the festival.
A hog roast dinner and ham and beans with cornbread will be offered. Serving of the dinners begins at 4:30 p.m. and concludes at 8 p.m.
There is no cost but freewill offerings will be accepted for the meals.
In addition, desserts will be available. Last year, homemade ice cream was offered and the committee is hoping to have it again.
The Jackson Township Community Band will perform at the festival, as will the James Family Singers and the Recycled Rockettes.
Other music and entertainment may also be provided.
Free popcorn will be available and a play area for children will be designated for children.
Stearley said the play area may be near the horse pull area in town.
"Bubbles" the clown will provide balloon animals for children as well. A fire safety seminar for children will also take place and will be put together by the Center Point Volunteer Fire Department.
Fireworks will be provided by Wayne's World Fireworks, beginning at dusk.
