He was born April 7, 1939, in Vevay, Ind., as the son of Bob Skinner and Martha Bell Skinner.
He had last worked as a janitor at Cooper Towers. Alvin enjoyed going to Dietz Lake, eating at the Coffee Cup, going to movies, working, and he loved animals.
He was preceded in death by his father Bob Skinner and his mother Martha Bosaw, and step-father John Bosaw.
Survivors include his brother Lawrence "Bill" Skinner and a host of friends in Brazil.
Services will take place Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, at 7 p.m., at Lawson-Miller Chapel, with Gerald Hoggatt officiating.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., at the funeral home.
He will be buried in Vevay Cemetery along side his mother.
