Couple renew wedding vows at Terre Haute Regional Hospital

Thursday, September 11, 2008

TERRE HAUTE -- "I have loved him since I was 13 and I'm 82 now. He is my guy and will always be my guy."

Ila Crofton couldn't say enough good things about her loving husband John as they renewed their wedding vows on Tuesday in the chapel at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.

Pastor Tim Russell resided over the ceremony that included many friends.

On Sept. 9, 1964, Ila and John Crofton, 84, were married in Las Vegas.

They were both born and raised in New York but moved to Brazil 22 years ago.

Tuesday's ceremony was held in the hospital chapel because John is currently a patient at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.

The couple was going to have the ceremony in his room but a nurse made the arrangements for the chapel.

I attend Grace Chapel with this couple. They are a remarkable twosome and are loved by the entire congregation. They are truly an inspiration to others.
