R. Michael Loudermilk, 59, Sullivan, formerly of Terre Haute, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at 1:20 a.m., at Sullivan County Community Hospital.
He was born May 7, 1949, in Terre Haute, the son of Raymond E. Loudermilk and Helen Sybert.
He served in the United States Air Force and was a retired Sheriff's Deputy from Vigo County. He was retired from the Indiana National Guard and was chief of security at Hoosier Generation Station, Merom.
He was a member of the Sullivan County V.F.W., FOP, and Brother of the Woods.
He is survived by fiancÚ Carol Loudermilk, sons Michael Loudermilk and Jacob Loudermilk and his mother Beth Loudermilk, daughters Elizabeth Vitz and husband David, and Becky Loudermilk, sisters Jean Skinner, Stella Mann, Sara Loudermilk, Marilyn Neese, Mary Akard and half-sister Tracy Deal, granddaughter Abigail Vitz, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will take place at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home, with Gary Flora officiating. Burial with military rites will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
