She was born Oct. 18, 1928, in Zanesville, Ohio, the daughter of David N. and Julia "Elthea" (Lockwood) Helton.
Most recently, she worked for the Brazil Wal-Mart in the floral department and as a door greeter. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, reading the Guidepost Magazine, books, The Bible, and anything to do with angels.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Clare Bair, Lillie Mae Perkins and Ruby Shearrow.
Survivors include her sons David Lee Rader and wife Judy, Sullivan County, Ind., Mark Wayne Rader, Shelburn, Ind., Carl Dean Rader, Terre Haute, and Norman Rader Sr. and wife Melinda, Terre Haute, sister Phyllis M. Mapes and husband Gene, Lake View, Ark., grandchildren Scott Waine Rader and wife Tracey, Terre Haute, Jason David Rader and wife Erin, Terre Haute, Nathan Adam Rader, Shelburn, Aaron Dean Rader, Terre Haute, James Alan Rader and wife Amy, Terre Haute, Brian Keith Rader and wife Stephanie, Marianna, Ark., Jeremy Wayne Rader, Terre Haute, Keith Norman Rader Jr., Terre Haute, Jasmine Kay Rader, Terre Haute, 12 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Services will be at Lawson-Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave., Brazil, Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at 7 p.m., with Pastor Aaron Wheaton officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday, from 4-7 p.m.
At her request, cremation will be performed following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southern Care Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
