He was born Dec. 7, 1942, in Terre Haute, the son of Travis Wolverton and Delilah Thompson Williams.
He was raised in Brazil in the loving home of his mother and stepfather, Hubert E. Williams, whom he called dad.
He graduated from Brazil High School, class of 1960. He served in the United States Marine Corp. for four years.
Denny worked in sales his entire working career.
He lived and worked in Kokomo for several years and moved back to Brazil in 1992.
He enjoyed playing golf at Forest Park Golf Course and he was a member of the U.S. Golf Association.
He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 2, Brazil Elks, and was a big fan of high school sports, IU basketball, Colts, Bears and Larry Bird.
Survivors include daughter Liz Wolverton and her fiancÚ Tom Sanders, and daughter Stephanie Drake and husband Corey, all of Kokomo, grandsons Blake Oakley and Kade Baker, Ruth Ann Jeffries and Tanya and Brent Baker, all of Brazil, brother Kenneth Williams, California, many cousins and extended family and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will take place from 1-4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, at French Funeral Home, Brazil.
A memorial service will immediately follow at 4 p.m., with Perry Mager officiating.
His wishes were for cremation to take place.
Military services will take place at the end of the memorial service.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Marine Corp. Toys for Tots Program or to the Forest Park Golf Course Youth Programs.
Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
