Oletha M. Schauwecker

Oletha M. Schauwecker, 88, Plainfield, formerly of Clay County, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, at Heartland Health Care Center, Avon.

She was born May 15, 1920, in Clay County, to Arthur Ari Craig and Tilda Jane (Puckett) Craig.

She married Gordon Mac Schauwecker on Feb. 24, 1940. He preceded her in death on March 24, 1990.

She was a homemaker and an EKG Technician for the Hendricks Community Hospital, Danville.

She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church, Avon, and was a 50-year member of the O.E.S. Chapter at Clay City, now merged with O.E.S. No. 304, Bowling Green.

Survivors include sons Donnie Schauwecker and wife Janice, Plainfield, Lonnie Schauwecker and wife Nita, Carmal, and Ronnie Schauwecker, Clayton, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon Mac Schauwecker, parents Arthur Ari and Tilda Jane Craig, sisters Norma Ames, Murial Gorby, Eldred Irene Church Bicard Greenwood, Jenny Craig and Mary Craig, brothers Everett Craig and Clint Craig, and grandson Richard A. Blakley.

Services will take place Monday at 7:30 p.m., at Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, with Chaplain David Clayton officiating. Visitation is Monday from 4-7:30 p.m., at Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield.

Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Clay City.

Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, was entrusted with arrangements.
