Nora "Jane" Litz

Nora "Jane" Litz went to be with the Lord, passing in her home Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, at 4:30 a.m., following a long battle with cancer.

Born Nov. 15, 1938, in Wellston, Ohio, she was the daughter of Evelyn and Frank McGinnis.

She married Bill Litz on Nov. 24, 1959, moving to Brazil from Marion, Ohio.

Between Jane and Bill, they raised eight children. She blessed her children with vacations only dreams were made of.

Jane loved to visit with family and friends, flower gardening, but most of all, watching her hummingbirds and finches while playing Yahtzee.

She also was an avid Bingo player, having traveled to Cherokee Village in South Carolina.

She was a life member of the V.F.W. No. 1127 Women's Auxiliary and the American Legion Post 2.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill Litz, daughter Connie Sue Manning, sister Betty Litz, brothers Ronald Johnson, Don Johnson and Mack McCarley and sister-in-law Carolyn Johnson.

Survivors include children Jodie Thomas and husband Bob, Center Point, Jeanne Burris and husband Bruce, Harmony, Brenda Litz Gall, Indianapolis, Robert F. Litz and Kristy, Staunton, Mary Jane Litz, Brazil, brother Chuck "Bob" Johnson, Marysville, Ohio, brother-in-law Joe Litz, Marion, Ohio, sisters-in-law Patsy Coldron, Shelly Jacks, Phyllis Jean, Mary Johnson and Ruby Johnson, 21 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Lawson-Miller Chapel, with Pastor Tom Roeschlein officiating. Burial will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
