James Lee Rosser

James Lee Rosser, 78, formerly of Rosedale and currently living in Bloomington, Ind., passed away at Bloomington Hospital, Sept. 27, 2008, following a brief illness.

Born March 10, 1930, in Rosedale, he was the son of James and Harriet Rosser.

Following graduation from Rosedale High School, he served his country in the United States Army, being honorably discharged in 1963.

He worked as a guard in the carpentry department at Indiana Reformatory Industries of New Castle, from which he retired.

He was a sports fanatic, who loved playing and watching sports. In his younger years, he was a member of the track, baseball and basketball teams.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary (Maher) Rosser, infant son and sister Carolyn Riggs.

He is survived by sons Dennis Rosser, Brazil, and Brian Rosser, Bloomington, daughter Diana Rollings, Brazil, sister Mary Davis and husband Sherman, Michigan, and grandsons Lee and Jeremy Rollings, both of Terre Haute.

Services will be at French Funeral Home at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 1, with Pastor Richard Pippin officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery, New Castle.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday one hour prior to services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
