Knights win two-of-three volleyball matches at Jasper

JASPER -- The Northview volleyball team rebounded from its first loss last week to take two-of-three matches at Jasper on Saturday.

The Knights defeated Evansville Central, 25-20, 19-25, 25-15 to open the tourney before falling to the host Wildcats, 17-25, 25-23, 18-25. Northview finished with a win over Sullivan, 25-23, 25-23.

Leading the offense was Brittaney Long's 41 kills to go with 11 digs and three aces while Lizzie Emmert contributed 16 kills, eight assists and four digs to the tourney. Hannah Emmert added 18 kills and 12 digs while Alyssa Clarke added eight kills, five blocks and three assists.

On defense, Ashlen Buck had a team-high 48 digs with Kaylee Clark adding 30 digs and six kills for the Knights. Emily Chiles had 18 digs.

Ali Sharton led the passing witih 42 assists along with six kills and three digs and Kaylee Clark had 30 digs and six kills. Samantha Solomon contributed 11 kills and seven blocks.

The Knights (17-2 overall) take on South Vermillion at home on Thursday beginning at 6 p.m.
