Megenhardt 68th family reunion

This year, the Megenhardt family celebrated 155 years in America at its 68th reunion on Aug. 24 at Forest Park. A carry-in meal was shared by 60 family members and two guests.

The oldest family member present was Rosalee Megenhardt Reikofski, age 79. There were no babies attending their first reunion.

Descendants from three branches of the William and Barbara Megenhardt family were in attendance. Attending from the Ellen Megenhardt Travis branch were: Roy, LaVonne and Joe Waldron; Vic and Theada Morris; Bud and Donnetta Travis; Tony, Jodie, Shandi and Tyler Travis; and Marvin and Jill Strauch, and son.

The David Megenhardt branch once again had the largest attendance with Wayne and Peggy Burger; Nick Burger; Terry, Mahala, Deven and Kamryn Burger; Matthew, Claudia and Alexus Burger; Larry and Darlene Megenhardt; Megan Singleton; John, Penny and Michael Megenhardt; Dee, Bryce and Brianna Greenman; Howard and Grace Dunigan; Greg, Jamie, Hayden and Dietrich Dunigan; Tom, Danette, Brittany and Kirstin Robinson; Darral and Dona Duncan; JR, Tonya and Taylor Prentice; Pat, Rhonda and Mariah Duncan; Bill Kristie and Kelsie Megenhardt.

Attending from the Charles Megenhardt family were Rosalee Reikofski; Kenny, Judy, Caroline and Mary Sebastian and John Miller.

Officers for the coming year are Larry Megenhardt, President; Peggy Burger, Vice President; Judy Sebastian, Secretary/Treasurer; Darlene Megenhardt, Drink Committee.

Everyone enjoyed the opportunity to visit and play in the park on a pleasant August afternoon. President Larry Megenhardt encouraged everyone to attend next year's reunion on Aug. 23, 2009, at Forest Park.
