Under the direction of Kristina Waugh, the theme of the concert is "Come to the Water."
"We want to invite the community to join us," Waugh said. "It will be an evening with beautiful music and it shows how hard the students have been working."
Waugh has been teaching for four years and this is her first year as the Northview High School Choir director.
"Many times in music, water is symbolic of life and renewal," Waugh said when talking about the theme for the music. "Several of our songs revolve around the idea of hope, renewal and returning home."
The Knight Singers will be performing one of their favorite songs that combine three African American spirituals, "Take me to the Water," "Wade in the Water" and "Down by the Riverside."
And the Symphonic Choir will be performing a French tongue twister, in which children wrote the lyrics.
"The song is about having hope for a better world," Waugh said with a smile on her face.
The concert will take place on Oct. 8, at 7:30 p.m. and admission is free.
