Mary was born on Jan. 24, 1923, in Manhattan, Ind., to Zaring and Nellie Rollings Duell.
She was a 1941 graduate of Reelsville High School. On July 4, 1923, she married Emerson Clark. He preceded her in death.
Mary was employed at Putnam County and Clay County hospitals as a nurse's assistant.
During World War II, she was an employee of Allison Transmission, Indianapolis.
After retirement, she was a volunteer at the Clay County Food Pantry, Clay County Health Center and was a "Grey Lady" at the Clay County Hospital.
Mary was a member of First Christian Church for many years, and Order of Eastern Star No. 238, Knightsville.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Emerson, in 1978, her parents, sisters Olive and Maxine, brothers Jesse and David, and an infant sister.
She is survived by her children Stephen Clark and wife Elizabeth, Knightsville, Rebecca McPheeters, Westfield, Ind., and Kevin Clark and wife Sherri, Brazil, grandchildren Erin and husband Andrew, Erika and husband Peter, Emily and husband Shane, Stephanie and Michael, great-grandchildren Shelby, Ashlynne, Caleb and Rebecca, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Services will take place at Lawson-Miller Chapel at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 8, with Pastor Ernie Rush officiating.
Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery.
Visitation will take place from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008.
