Replaced

Monday, October 6, 2008

The Clay County Commissioners and Highway Department reopened one of the bridges damaged by the floods on June 6, 2008. The bridge, located on County Road 100 South, one-quarter mile west of CR 600 W, is the first completed project with FEMA approval. The bridge was replaced with a flat car that is 35-feet long and more than 21-feet wide, and the county was only responsible for 25 percent of the total cost as FEMA is reimbursing the remainder of the cost to Clay County. Pictured are (from left) Commissioners Jack Withers and Paul Sinders, Clay County Highway Superintendent Pete Foster and President of the Commissioners Charlie Brown.
