North Clay sixth-grade wins Monrovia Tourney

MONROVIA -- North Clay's sixth-grade volleyball team completed a perfect weekend for the junior high programs, winning a tournament at Monrovia.

The Knights defeated the host Bulldogs, 25-18, 25-10 and Crawfordsville's Tuttle, 25-19, 25-18.

McKenzi Kumpf had a 10-point game in the opener and Whitney Halfhill added seven in the victory. Lainey Latham contributed four along with Abbey Timberman with Mikayla Rowan scoring three.

In the second game, Hannah Minor had 10 points for the Knights to top the team and Halfhill added eight. Both Rowan and Kumpf had seven points, Ashley Kidwell had six and Brandy Thomas tallied three.

"It was a great weekend," commented coach Linda Payton. "It was great to see these girls win."
