To the Editor:

The Brazil City Parks and Recreation Board would like to thank the many individuals, businesses and organizations who helped with the Fourth Annual Fishing Fun Day at Craig Park on Sept. 20.

The weather was absolutely gorgeous. The water was clear and full of fish. A crowd of nearly 150 enjoyed time fishing with family and friends and everyone got to relish some of Clay County's natural beauty.

Seventy-two youngsters 12-year-olds and under received a special door prize. All who wanted enjoyed hot dogs, candy bars and soda as well as getting to take home a cane fishing pole and a grab bag full of fishing accessories. And it was all free due to the kindness and generosity of Clay County folks.

Thank you to Mayor Ann Bradshaw, State Rep. Amos Thomas (R-Brazil), State Rep. candidate Nancy Michael (D-Greencastle), Brazil Councilman Brad Deal, Wal-Mart, Mark Rogers and the Forest Park Golf Course, Heidi Mace and the Kroger Store, Bill Osborn and Pepsi Refreshment Services, The Brazil Times, Brazil City Police Dept., Clay County Sheriff's Dept., Clay County Sheriff's Reserve Dept., Brazil City Fire Dept., Bill Houck, and Joe Mullenix.

A special thanks to Ruby Kelly and Kelly's Bait Shop. Their participation was greatly appreciated.

And a very special thank you to Larry Clark, not only for his generous contributions, but for sharing his expertise and enthusiasm. Without Larry, it would be difficult for us to host this event.

The board would also like to thank all the citizens who donated money to the Park Non-Reverting Fund. This is how the Fishing Fun Day becomes a reality. Any donations are appreciated.

Thank you all.

Caroline McCullough,

President, Brazil City Parks and Recreation Board
