John Thompson, 67, Belle Union, died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, at Hendricks Regional Health, Danville, Ind.
He was born June 12, 1941, in Plainfield, to Clifford Earl Thompson and Nora Ida (Rooker) Thompson.
On Dec. 28, 1962, he married Marsha (Clearwaters) Thompson. She survives.
He was a mechanic at Russell's Trailer Service, Indianapolis. He was a coach in the Belle Union Little Leagues and a sports fan.
Additional survivors include sons Troy Thompson and wife Shelly, Washington, D.C., Trent Thompson and wife Chrissie, Belle Union, and Toby Thompson, Belle Union, sisters Ida May Guy, Plainfield, Phyllis Irene Clark, Plainfield, and LaDonna Sue Clark and husband Gerald, Centerville, Ind., brother Richard D. Thompson and wife Karon, Cloverdale, and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clifford Earl and Nora Ida Thompson, a sister in infancy, and brothers Norman E. Thompson and Carl Melvin Thompson.
Services will take place at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008, at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, with Pastor Pat Pistelli officiating. Burial will take place at Walnut Chapel Cemetery, Cloverdale.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at the funeral home.
