Area college sets up benefit for Light House Mission

Thursday, October 16, 2008

TERRE HAUTE -- Students at Indiana Business College are sponsoring a fall food drive to benefit the Light House Mission.

The goal is to collect 1,000 pounds of canned food, beginning Oct. and ending Nov. 3.

Donations will be accepted Monday-Friday, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., at the Terre Haute IBC campus, located south on State Road 46.

Donations of personal care products will also be collected from Oct. 14-Dec. 8.

This is often an overlooked necessity and students will seek to fill that need as well.

The Light House Mission has been helping the hungry and homeless for more than 116 years.

The organization offers food, lodging, clothing, education and counseling to those in need.

These are just a few of the many services that are available at the mission throughout the year.

The Light House Mission is open seven days a week year-round, located at 1450 Wabash Ave., Terre Haute.
