PLAINFIELD -- Northview won its 25th match of the season on Thursday evening, scoring a 25-20, 25-21, 25-27, 25-21 victory against first round sectional foe, Plainfield on the road.
"We played with a lot of effort," said coach Scott McDonald. "We played without Alyssa Clarke, who was injured in practice and her status is unknown right now."
Forced to play without their starting middle, the Knights shuffled some players around and got impressive efforts across the board.
Brittaney Long was held below her average with just six kills, but the Knights got a 13 kill effort from Kaylee Clark, who also had four digs. Hannah Emmert moved into the middle for the Knights and rang up seven kills and added three blocks.
"The kids did a good job," said McDonald. "Hannah Emmert moved into the middle and did a great job and Kaylee Clark played well too."
Lizzie Emmert had four kills and a dig with Ali Sharton passing out 11 assists with two kills. Hannah Hayes had six kills and 25 assists and Samantha Solomon contributed four kills and four blocks.
On defense, Emily Chiles had nine digs and Ashlen Buck led the way with 19 digs.
"This was a nice win against our sectional opponent," mentioned McDonald. "We'll make some adjustments. The kids ran the offense well and passed good, which makes a big difference."
The JV team dropped a 23-25, 18-25 decision to the Quakers.
The Knights (25-5 overall) host Danville on Monday for Senior Night.
