The following is a list of upcoming events and announcements provided to The Brazil Times:
The Clay County Retired Teacher's Association (CCRTA) and fellow associates have set up a meeting for 7 p.m., Tuesday, at Kennedy's Crossing Center.
Executive Director of the Indiana Retired Teacher's Association Andy Thomas, along with Director of Area 4 Dwayne Rater will be featured speakers.
Those in attendence will learn about the advantages and perks of being a CCRTA member.
There will be refreshments, raffled items, games and prizes and one member will receive a gift certificate to be used at Red Lobster or the Olive Garden.
There will be games available, including euchre and bingo.

The Clay County Democrats meeting for October, set for Tuesday, has been moved from the Clay County Senior Citizen's Center to the Democrat Headquarters, 20 E. National Ave., Brazil.
Those interested in attending will have an opportunity to "Meet the Candidates," from 6-8 p.m.

After completing flood damage repairs, The Wabash Independent Living and Learning Center, Inc., will celebrate its reopening with an Open House Tuesday.
The public is invited to attend the celebration and ribbon cutting from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., at 4312 S. 7th St., Terre Haute.
Refreshments will be served and Terre Haute City Mayor Duke A. Bennett will officiate the ribbon cutting.
Club Meeting Set
The Retired Court House Employees Club will meet at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, at Pizza Hut, Brazil.
The club will not meet in November or December.
Those interested in knitting are invited to join the Walnut Street Knitiots, who are starting a new club.
Bring yarn, needles and ideas to share as the club will meet at 6 p.m., Wednesday, at the Brazil Public Library.
Diabetes Class Set
St. Vincent Clay Hospital recently announced the next class on Diabetes education will take place in October.
"What You Should Know About Type 2 Diabetes," will be from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 22.
The four-week class will meet Oct. 22, Oct. 29, Nov. 5, and Nov. 12.
Class size is limited, but are free of charge.

Staunton Food Pantry
Until further notice, the Staunton Community Food Pantry at the Staunton United Methodist Church will be open only the last Wednesday of each month.
However, due to the holidays, it will be open the last Tuesday of the month in November and December.
The schedule is as follows:
* 2008 -- Wednesday, Oct. 29, Tuesday, Nov. 25, Tuesday, Dec. 30, and
* 2009 -- Wednesday, Jan. 29, Wednesday, Feb. 25, and March 25.

The Wabash Valley Community Foundation has various scholarship opportunities available to students and residents of the Wabash Valley.
Applications are now available to print from the foundation's website, www.wvcf.com.

The Times is now offering online users the opportunity to purchase photographs through www.mycapture.com.
When users click "order this photo," they are taken to the mycapture.com online store and are given several options to choose from. Items include matte prints, glossy prints, picture mugs, mouse pads, magnets, commemorative plaques and T-shirts. Prices range from $7-$80.
Due to the new deputy hiring process, the Clay County Sheriff's Merit Board will meet Nov. 10 rather than Nov. 3.
Clay County residents are invited to attend Van Buren Elementary School's Veteran's Day program, scheduled to take place from 10-11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 10, at the Van Buren Elementary gymnasium.
The school will be welcoming and honoring anyone who has served or is serving in any branch of the United States Armed Forces.
The school is also extending an invitation for those who plan on attending to stay and have lunch provided by the school.
