The Times will conduct a costume and ghost story contest.
All ghouls interested in competing in the costume contest should arrive at The Brazil Times' office, 100 N. Meridian St., Brazil, between 1-5 p.m., Friday, Oct. 31, in observance of Halloween.
For only $5, a Times' staffer will take a photograph of the child and publish it in the newspaper and laminate a copy for parents. The photos will be judged and the winner for favorite costume will win $25.
Photos will be taken with a digital camera. Laminated printouts of the photographs will be available at The Brazil Times on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
All goblins interested in competing in the ghost story competition are being asked to bring a spooky ghost story to The Times office for a chance to win $25 and publication in The Brazil Times.
All stories received by the deadline of 3 p.m., Friday, will be judged by Times' staff members. The winner will receive $25 and have their story published in the newspaper. All stories must be less than 500 words.
The writer's name, address phone number and age must accompany all submitted stories. If chosen as the winner, the story will run with full name with it. All stories must be original. Plagiarized stories will not be accepted.
Submitted stories must be typed or printed clearly and all stories may not contain profanity or inappropriate content.
