Betty Lou (Keyes) Knopp, 70, Brazil, passed away unexpectedly at her residence Oct. 21, 2008.

She was born in Cape Girardeau, Mo., April 13, 1938, to Eldridge and Elda (Loos) Keyes.

Mrs. Knopp attended Otter Creek High School. She worked as a cook at Lost Creek Elementary School and then at Union Hospital until retiring in 1997. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Brazil. Mrs. Knopp enjoyed sewing and cooking, playing cards and her little Pekinese "Ginger."

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Karan Sue Criss and husband Richard, Brazil, son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey Knopp and wife Kathleen, Dana, Ind., best friend Karen Neice, Seelyville, cousin Peggy Jo Medlock and husband Burl, Cape Girardeau, Mo., as well as many extended family members and friends.

Services will be at French Funeral Home Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Tom Woodley officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery.
