Real Property Tax Sale to be listed Wednesday

On Wednesday, the Notice of Real Property Tax Sale will be listed in the classifieds of The Brazil Times, and the following two consecutive Wednesdays.

The Tax Sale will take place on December 5, 2008, at 8 a.m. in the Commissioners Court Room of the Clay County Court House.

Those interested in bidding on the tax sale may register online at https://www.sri-taxsale.com/register/.

Arrive the morning of the tax sale early enough to receive your bid number.

Residents attending are asked to bring registration form and W9 form with them the morning of the tax sale, to obtain a bid number.

Is it true that if you purchase a parcel off the tax sale that you can not actually do anything with that property for 1 year? Something about the prior owner could still have the option to pay the back tax and you would have to render the property back to them......

Duddlebug: That is correct. But they will have to reimburse you plus intrest plus any cost like attorney, and title search. You will basically break even, plus intrest, if the owner redeems the taxes.

If you buy a property for taxes than a title search is done, and a lein shows up do you still have to pay off the lein?
