Harold A. Heitz, 82, Greenwood, passed away Oct. 31, 2008, at Greenwood Village South.
Mr. Heitz was born Dec. 19, 1925, in Mt. Sterling, Ill., to Paul A. and Wilma Landrith Heitz.
On Sept. 20, 1944, he married Mildred Hood. She survives.
After 28 years at Union Carbide Corp., Harold retired in 1984 as Financial Control Manager. Besides working at Union Carbide, Harold was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Greenwood, where he served as an elder and was a member of the choir.
In 1949, he graduated from Indiana University and was an honorary member of Beta Gamma Sigma.
Leaving behind to mourn his passing, but celebrating the life he lived include his wife Mildred Hood Heitz, sons Rex (Sharon) of Warren, N.H., Mark (Dawn) of Naperville, Ill., and Victor Heitz of Forest Park, Ill., daughters Sandra (Chet) Gunter of Martinez, Ga., and Deborah (Bill) Ohnsorg of Scotch Plains, N.J., brother Lewis (Paulette) Heitz, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Heitz will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m., today, Nov. 3, 2008, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, 46143, with the service at 1 p.m. Burial will take place at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
