Linda Stewart and Nancy Youngblood won the money through Hoosier Lottery. The two play together weekly in Hoosier Lottery scratch-offs, usually playing the newest games first.
Playing so much recently paid off as they won playing Hoosier Lottery's new game, Candlelight Cash.
Youngblood said they purchased the tickets two days after her birthday. She said they buy $20 worth of tickets each week and split the earnings.
"I just thought it's a fake, it doesn't happen to people like us," she said. "It hit me when the bank accepted the check. I thought this might be true after all."
According to a press release provided by Hoosier Lottery, Stewart was elated.
"Oh my gosh," Stewart said. "I couldn't stop saying that."
Stewart lives in Knightsville and had purchased the ticket from Seely-Mart, 9681 United States 40, east of Seeylville.
Youngblood lives in Brazil, and is a retired registered nurse.
"Oh my gosh is all I heard from her," Youngblood said.
Youngblood said they have won small amounts before and her sister won $10,000 two years ago off a ticket she purchased by herself. She said they always purchase four tickets.
However, when they purchased the $100,000 winner, they purchased two each because the tickets cost $10 each.
Youngblood said they plan to share their earnings with their families.
