City Hall Closed
Brazil City Hall will be closed Tuesday in observance of Veterans Day.
The Sanitation Department will run a day behind for trash pick up for customers scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Breakfast being served
V.F.W. Post No. 1127 is inviting all local veterans and their families to enjoy a free breakfast Tuesday from 6-10 a.m., at the local post, 103 E. Jackson St., Brazil.
Boy Scout and Cub Scout sign ups will take place Thursday from 6:30-8:30 p.m., at Cornerstone Christian Academy Family Life Center.
All boys ages 7-17 are encouraged to sign up and join in the fun and learn about the activities scouting has to offer.

Farm Bureau, in conjunction with the Clay County Chamber of Commerce, has scheduled a meeting for 7 p.m., Nov. 13, to take place at the Clay County 4-H Fairgrounds.
The Kernan-Shephard report will be discussed. The report is a proposed study to improve the efficiency of local government.
The purpose of the meeting is to inform residents of the study.
The Wabash Valley Beekeepers Association will conduct a meeting from 7-9 p.m., Nov. 13, at the Greene County 4-H Fairgrounds.
Information will be available to those who want to know more about beekeeping, from getting started to winterizing hives. A question and answer session will also take place.
Membership is not required and all are invited to attend.

'Festival of Trees'
The St. Vincent Clay Hospital Foundation has scheduled the fifth annual "Festival of Trees," for 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 15.
The event will take place at the Clay County 4-H Fairgrounds. Cost is $30 per person or $240 for a reserved table of eight.
Tickets are available for purchase by calling St. Vincent Clay Hospital at 442-2740.
Refreshments will be served and a silent auction will take place.
The Clay City/Harrison Township Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor a Craft and Hobby Bazaar from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, at the Orange Building at Goshorn Park in Clay City.
Lunch items like chili, sandwiches, soft pretzels and cheese and homemade pies will be available for sale from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Free drawings will be made every hour. All proceeds will go to support the fire department.

On Nov. 19, the Clay County Health Center, 1408 E. Hendrix St., Brazil, will have two enrollment sessions for the Home Again identification program for caregivers or family members of someone experiencing Alzheimer's disease, dementia or any type of disorder that could cause issues with wandering or memory loss at its facility.
The first session will take place from 10 a.m.-noon, and the second takes place 1:30-3:30 p.m.
The free service allows for the confidential collection of personal identification information, including fingerprints and a current photograph of the patient to be collected all at once.

Interested people are invited to the Brazil Public Library at 6:30 p.m., Nov. 20, for an information exercise on several ways to relax.
Judy Berry of Crossroads Studio will be on hand to demonstrate the benefits of massage therapy and regular exercise. Berry will also show how to help relax with reflexology.

Property tax notice
The fall installment of property tax will be due Monday.
The normal business hours for the Clay County Treasurer's Office are Monday-Friday, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. The office will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 4, for Election Day.
The Treasurer's Office will have the following extended office hours:
* Today, 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
Fall tax payments will also be accepted at First Financial Bank with a tax statement.
The Wabash Valley Community Foundation has various scholarship opportunities available to students and residents of the Wabash Valley.
Applications are now available to print from the foundation's website, www.wvcf.com.
