'The Pied Piper of Hamelin' set for weekend

The Children's Theatre Division of Community Theatre of Clay County will present "The Pied Piper of Hamelin," Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the theatre, 8 E. National Ave., Brazil.

More than 40 area young people are involved in the show, onstage and offstage. Tickets are available at the door and are $5 for adults and $2 for children.

The musical production is directed by Susan Sneddon and Elaine Clarke, along with Student Director Elizabeth Emmert. Actors include David Swearingen as the Pied Piper, Alyssa Hood as Gretchen, Rebecca Beyers as the Mayor and Sam Beyers as the Vice-Mayor of Hamelin. Trey Reberger has been cast as the Chief Rat Caesar.

Townspeople and children include Sylvia Arnett, Ashley Arnold, Kayle Coltharp, Keirsten Mikesell, Christopher Swearingen, Juliana Rothrock, Mackenzie Byrd, Maizie Pell and Abby Bailey.

Rats and mice include Owen Tipton, Maddie Duvall, Ally Murphy, Reece Bailey, Torey Fagg, Cullen Mace, Elle Tipton, Julia Bailey, Cassie Hood and Bobbie Jo Wallace.

The cat patrol includes Caroline Disney, Meghan Disney, Logan Murphy, Lydia Stallcop, Alyssa Wheeler, Lynnae Ogborn, Mickie Bucklin and Natalia Latham.

The fairies include Elizabeth Emmert, Ellie Emmert, Sarah White, Macy Deckert and Lynn Mace.
