The following is a list of upcoming events and announcements provided to The Brazil Times:

* Chili supper set

Hunters are invited to gather at the visitors' center at Lieber State Recreation Area for a chili supper from 7-9 p.m., today.

The evening marks the eve of firearm deer season.

An Indiana Conservative Officer will be on hand for a question and answer session, regarding legal issues.

Hunting videos, Euchre and swapping tales will highlight the evening.

Cost is $2 per person but there will be no gate fee.

* Food Bank Open

The Wesley Chapel Food Bank will be open Saturday from 9 a.m.-noon.

* Hobby Bazaar

The Clay City/Harrison Township Volunteer Fire Department is sponsoring a Craft and Hobby Bazaar from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, at the Orange Building at Goshorn Park in Clay City.

Lunch items like chili, sandwiches, soft pretzels and cheese and homemade pies will be available for sale from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Free drawings will be made every hour and all proceeds will go to support the fire department.

* 'Festival of Trees'

The St. Vincent Clay Hospital Foundation has scheduled the fifth annual "Festival of Trees," for 6:30 p.m., Saturday.

The event will take place at the Clay County 4-H Fairgrounds.

Cost is $30 per person or $240 for a reserved table of eight.

Tickets are available for purchase by calling St. Vincent Clay Hospital at 442-2740.

Refreshments will be served and a silent auction will take place.

* Home Again

On Wednesday, Nov. 19, the Clay County Health Center, 1408 E. Hendrix St., Brazil, will have two enrollment sessions for the Home Again identification program for caregivers or family members of someone experiencing Alzheimer's disease, dementia or any type of disorder that could cause issues with wandering or memory loss at its facility.

The first session will take place from 10 a.m.-noon, and the second takes place 1:30-3:30 p.m.

The free service allows for the confidential collection of personal identification information, including fingerprints and a current photograph of the patient to be collected all at once.

* Time to relax

Need help relaxing?

Interested people are invited to the Brazil Public Library at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 20, for an information exercise on several ways to relax.

Judy Berry of Crossroads Studio will be on hand to demonstrate the benefits of massage therapy and regular exercise. Berry will also show how to help relax with reflexology.

* Holiday Bazaar

The Staunton Elementary School PTO will conduct its 24th annual Holiday Bazaar Saturday, Nov. 22, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., at Northview High School.

* Dinner time!

The Cunot Community/Senior Center has scheduled a community Thanksgiving Dinner for 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 23.

All are welcome. Those interested in attending are asked to bring a covered dish. The center will provide turkey and baked ham.

* Wreath making

Learn to gather and process natural materials to make different shaped wreaths at the Bloomfield Public Library Dec. 6.

From 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., those interested in attending will combine sticks, twigs, grasses, flowers, seeds and evergreens with other embellishments to create unique wreaths for the home.

All materials will be provided but those attending are asked to bring pliers, scissors and gloves.

* Home Tour prepared

Tri Kappa's annual Home Tour will take place Dec. 7. Advanced tickets are now on sale for $5.

A chicken and noodle dinner will also take place Dec. 7 at First Presbyterian Church, Brazil. Advanced tickets are on sale now, costing $6 for adults and $4 for children 3-12.

* Fundraiser scheduled

Clay County Habitat for Humanity will have a fundraiser at Pizza Hut the second Friday of each month from 4-8 p.m.

Coupons are available from any Habitat member or by just mentioning Habitat for Humanity when making qualified purchases.

* Food needed

The Cunot Food Pantry is currently conducting a Holiday Food Drive for people who need food for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The food pantry is currently in need of non-perishable food items.

* Flu vaccines

Flu vaccines will be available at the Heart Center of Brazil, Robert C. Oehler's office, 725 S. Forest Ave., Brazil.

The vaccines will be available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

The Wabash Valley Community Foundation has various scholarship opportunities available to students and residents of the Wabash Valley.

Applications are now available to print from the foundation's website, www.wvcf.com.
