Linda Kay Headley, 61, Brazil, died Nov. 22, 2008, at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Dec. 2, 1946, in Clay County, the daughter of Roy F. Lamb and Thelma M. Correll Lamb.
She graduated from Brazil High School, class of 1965. She worked for a time as a nurse's aide at Stinson Nursing Home. She later was a housekeeper for several families in Clay County.
She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and had been a resident of Cooper Towers for several years. She was very involved with the social aspect of Cooper Towers and helped to organize many activities and dinners for the residents there. She worked many years at the Benwood Church Camp for special needs adults. She was a mother of a special needs child and she worked tirelessly to provide a good environment for her. She was known in her family as the "peacemaker" and as the "unifier." She was the one who organized the family dinners and made sure everyone stayed close.
She enjoyed talking to her friends online, playing Bingo and fishing.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her niece ReNetta Lamb and sister-in-law Ginger Lamb.
Survivors include her beloved children Stacy Headley, Brazil, and son Robert Headley, Terre Haute, sister Alice Long, Terre Haute, brothers Roy Lamb and wife June, Bedford, Charles Lamb and friend Frances, Center Point, Dennis Lamb, Brazil, Robert Lamb and wife Rita, Bowling Green, and Steve Lamb and wife Susan, Brazil, the father of her children Robert "Bob" Headley, Marion, Ind., several nieces and nephews, special long time friends Sandy Abrams and Sandy Brattain, and many other church family friends.
Services will take place at 2 p.m., at First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Gary Bechtel officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
