With the Christmas season just around the corner, the Extension Office has been busily preparing for two upcoming workshops.
On Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 6 p.m., the Extension Office will be a gingerbread extravaganza as we conduct our gingerbread house workshop.
You will have a chance to let your decorating skills, as well as your imagination, run wild as you decorate a pre-baked gingerbread house.
All of the needed materials will be provided for a fee of $7. There will be a limit of one gingerbread house per family as we are limited in the number we have, but you will be able to work on it together and have all of that "bonding" time.
If you have special decorating tips, candies or bags that you want to use, feel free to bring them. If you have never decorated before, that's OK too. This workshop is open to everyone.
If you want to enjoy a night of holiday spirit and making a beautiful gingerbread house, please join us. Reservations are required as space is limited. Call 448-9041 to register.
On Dec. 10, from 3-9 p.m., the Extension Office will smell like a pine tree as we conduct our evergreen wreath workshop.
This was so popular last year that we decided to offer it again this year. Nothing is prettier than a fresh evergreen wreath for the holidays and this is a great project to do with the kids!
The cost is $5 and we provide the frame and the greenery. You bring your own ribbon and any trinkets you want to put on the wreath.
You will need pliers and something that will cut pine branches (old scissors or hand pruners).
You may also want to bring lightweight gloves to keep the pine tar off of your hands.
Please join us anytime between 3-8 p.m., the class will end at 9 p.m. It will take 1-2 hours to complete a wreath.
Everyone is welcome, so come make a wreath with your family, a friend or by yourself. Call 448-9041 to register. Spaces are limited.
There will be a $2 discount to anyone who recycles their wreath frame from last year's workshop.
I hope to see you at our workshops!
