Family tradition

Tuesday, November 25, 2008

Proud parents Suzie and John P. Tilley watched their son John C. Tilley follow in the footsteps of two prior family members as he was sworn in by Clay County First Deputy Clerk Vickie Wheeler as the newest deputy at the Clay County Sheriff's Department Monday. Tilley has previously served as a reserve deputy at the department since July 2005 and will begin his official duties this Saturday. Clay County Sheriff Mike Heaton confirmed Tilley would participate in academy testing in December and will attend academy training in February 2009. Tilley's wife April, daughter Lauren and son Joshua were not pictured. Ivy Jackson Photo.
