She was born Dec. 24, 1911, in Poland, the daughter of Olus and Anna Long Aker.
She was raised in Knightsville and attended the Knightsville School.
On Oct. 19, 1936, she married Elmer France.
She was a member of the Knightsville United Methodist Church. She worked as a clerk at the Real Silk Mills, Indianapolis.
She had been a homemaker for the last several years. She enjoyed having flowers around her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Warren Aker, sisters Maude Beeler, Clysta Withers and Claris Smith, and her husband Elmer, who died in September 1971.
Survivors include sister Joy Green, Knightsville, sister-in-law Virginia Aker, Carbon, many generations of nieces and nephews, including great-great-great-nieces and nephews.
Services will take place at 1 p.m., Monday, at French Funeral Home, with Pastor Rick Short officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., at the funeral home.
