According to Brazil City Police Detective Clint McQueen, Aristin Losey, 23, rural Brazil, was incarcerated at the Clay County Justice Center when two Terre Haute Police Department detectives served two arrest-warrants for class B felony charges of sexual misconduct with a minor Thursday.
McQueen told The Brazil Times it was the culmination of a lengthy investigation between the BCPD and THPD.
"I started this investigation with THPD Det. Rick Decker in January," McQueen said.
"It took so long because the sexual misconduct allegations in this case took place between November-December in 2007, with alleged multiple incidents occurring in Clay and Vigo counties."
The Clay County Prosecutor's Office confirmed Monday that Losey was charged with two class B felony sexual misconduct charges in April. A jury trial is tentatively scheduled for Feb. 9.
Officials confirmed a bond was issued for $25,000 with 10 percent allowed.
However, due to several other unrelated outstanding legal cases filed against Losey, the court ordered the bond be paid consecutively with any other bond arrangements.
Losey, who was transported to the Vigo County Jail late Thursday, appeared for formal arraignment in Vigo County Circuit Court-Division 3 Friday and reappeared again Monday.
A $75,000 cash bond (with no 10 percent allowed) was set in the matter by the court.
Losey is expected to remain incarcerated while awaiting further court proceedings in both counties.
