WESTFIELD -- The Northview wrestling team continued some on the job training over the weekend, competing in the Westfield Great Eight Tourney.

The Knights came away with mixed results in the tourney, winning one of their dual matches and falling in four others.

We did make some progress and got better as the day progressed," said coach Dan Mikesell. "We were already short handed and then had two guys miss weight. We were only 20 seconds from winning the Shelbyville match, I was disappointed we let that one slip away."

The Knights defeated Indianapolis Northwest, but fell to Shelbyville, Evansville Memorial, Mount Vernon and Fishers.

Luke Pingleton was 4-1 on the afternoon at 125 pounds and Brady Silvers also won four matches at 171 pounds. Austin Bell took three victories at 119, Brandon Mikesell won three times at 135 and Brandon Pleake won three matches at 285.

"Hopefully we learned some lessons that will help us grow as individuals and as a team," said Mikesell.

The Knights travel to Owen Valley on Wednesday evening for a 6 p.m. match.
