North Clay boys split on the road

TERRE HAUTE -- The seventh-grade boys' basketball team was unable to overcome a slow third quarter in a 30-21 loss to Woodrow Wilson on Monday evening.

The Knights led 7-6 after the first quarter, but the Warriors knotted the game at halfitme. The third period proved pivotal as Woodrow Wilson leapt ahead with a 9-2 run on the way to the victory.

Nate Newton and Jim Mace each had seven points to lead North Clay with Nick Long and Jacob Johnson each scoring nine apiece to lead the Warriors.

Ian Heffner, Ethan Whitson and Daniel Kimball all had two points and Mark Underwood added a point.

In the 'B' game the Knights struggled to score in a 12-4 loss.

Jason Sampson and Trevor Hetrick each had two points apiece for North Clay.

The sixth-grade team scored a 17-13 victory over St. Patrick's on Monday night.

Gaddis Baysinger had eight to lead the Knights.

The North Clay 'B' team got 15 points from Jacob Harden to win 39-14.

The seventh-grade Knights hit the road to face Greencastle at 5:30 p.m. The sixth-grade Knights are off until a Dec. 15 date at Cloverdale at 6 p.m.
