Area residents can use the faucet again.
At approximately 1:15 p.m., Thursday, City of Brazil Utilities officials lifted the boil advisory that had been in effect since Monday for residents in Brazil, Carbon, Knightsville, Center Point and Harmony.
Earlier this week, a break in a 4-inch water line took place in front of Brazil City Hall in an area along National Avenue. Water services were shutdown at approximately 4 p.m., Monday, as a result of the break.
Employees with the Water Department finished clamping the line close to 8:10 p.m., Monday, and full service was restored at approximately 9 p.m.
Several fire hydrants in the area were also flushed.
On Monday, Water Superintendent Jake Raubuch told The Brazil Times the City Water Department clamped a service line, which also became disconnected.
However, the boil advisory went into effect.
Raubuch added samples of the water were taken Tuesday and Wednesday to ensure no contamination took place.
