Richard Julius Strommel

Richard Julius Strommel, 80, Brazil, died at 8:10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008, at St. Vincent Clay Hospital.

Richard was born Oct. 20, 1928, in Detroit, as the son of Stephan Lewis and Dorothy Kunze. He worked as a supervisor in manufacturing plants.

During World War II, he served in the United States Army Air Corps.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife.

He is survived by his wife Linda Sue Strommel, children Phillip Strommel, Patty Shelly, Karen Nedeau and Karl Strommel and six grandchildren.

Visitation will be 1-3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, at Moore Funeral Home.

At Richard's request, his body will be cremated following services on Sunday.
