UPDATE: Road conditions have not changed

Wednesday, December 17, 2008

Clay County Highway Department Supt. Pete Foster told The Brazil Times as of Wednesday afternoon, road conditions county-wide were still bad.

"It's still pretty slick," Foster said. "It's freezing rain right now."

Foster said motorists can get around but he advised them to use extreme caution.

"We've been putting salt and sand down all night and all day," Foster said.

He added he expected the roads to freeze over again by Thursday morning. However, his crew is still out there sanding and salting roads and will continue.

I find it really hard to believe that county highway was out at all last night. Look at most of the area schools around us that were not out because of the ice. I hope that the county highway department is looking for a change and change that leads to hard work.....well any work at all would be nice.
