UPDATE: School canceled today

Clay Community School Corporation Superintendent Dan Schroeder announced Thursday morning that school had been canceled today.

Ouch, I think we just extended the school year by one day, and winter has not officially started yet.

I only see one snow make-up day in the corporation's calender and students MUST attend 180 days by law.

I'm not sure what all the complaining is about, but I'm glad for the cancellations. I have to travel the roadways for work purposes and don't want my children traveling on a schoolbus under these conditions. I would much rather have them attending a few extra days at the end of the school year than in the ice and snow. But then again, I've personally seen the results of a vehicle accident involving a bus load of children.
