Jon William Lancaster, 45, Brazil, passed away at his residence Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, following an extended illness.
He was born Dec. 29, 1962, in Goshen, Ind., to Billy and Frances (McGinty) Lancaster.
He graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1981. Following high school, he attended Ivy Tech, earning a degree in Computer Technology in 1983.
He worked at Data Point, Digital Equipment Corporation and Donnelley Corporation, all in Terre haute, and DePauw University, Greencastle, as a computer technician.
He married Fran Nevils in April of 1986. They were later divorced, however, and have remained close friends.
Jon enjoyed ATV riding, working on and learning about computers and reading.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his brother Jeff Lancaster, Columbia, Mo., and sister Jane Lancaster, Michigan City, Ind., and nieces Andrea "Andie" Lancaster and Casey Atterson.
Memorial services for Jon will be at Lawson-Miller Chapel Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, at 7 p.m., with Pastor Mark Thompson officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until time of services.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 E. 33rd St., New York, N.Y., 10016. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
