He was born in Brazil, the son of the late Leo and Opal Campbell McCullough Fischer.
In 1954, he received the National Accounting Award of the American Trucking Association. In 1957, he joined the Allied Van Lines to become one of their outstanding sales persons in the U.S., serving major corporations in the New York City area.
In retirement, he also served Naples Moving and Storage Co., in a sales capacity.
He was a charter member of the Brazil Exchange Club and a past State President of the New Jersey Exchange Clubs and a past President of the Indiana Society of N.Y.
On June 14, 1952, he married Ruth Main Hayworth, in Columbus, Ind. She survives.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Naples, Fla.
Surviving with his wife are two stepsons, Stephen D. (Karen) Hayworth, Basking Ridge, N.J., and David M. (Kathleen) Hayworth, Desoto, Texas, half-brother Rev. John W. Fischer, Brazil, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral service celebrating the life of Mr. McCullough will be conducted at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at the Hathaway-Myers Chapel, 1022 Pearl St., Columbus, Ind., 47201, with the Rev. Dennis Campbell and the Rev. John Fischer officiating.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, and from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday.
Burial will be in the Garland Brook Cemetery, Columbus, Ind.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in his name through the funeral home or directly to the Avow Hospice, 1095 Whippoorwill Dr., Naples, Fla., 34105.
