On Dec. 13, 2008, Eric S. Vanatti graduated from Indiana State University with a bachelor's degree majoring in Criminology and Criminal Justice while minoring in Psychology, Political Science and Public Administration.

Vanattie was a 2004 graduate of Northview High School.

While attending Indiana State University he was a member of the American Criminal Justice Association's professional fraternity Lambda Alpha Epsilon, Iota Sigma Chapter.

He earned the Focus Indiana Scholarship sponsored by Eli Lilly Endowment and was a 21st Century Scholar.

Vanatti plans to continue education and obtain a Juris Doctor at Indiana University School of Law or obtain his masters/doctorate degree in psychology at Indiana State University.

Eric is the son of Beverly Chaney and the grandson of Judy Morlan, Dorothy Vanatti and the late Merlyn Vanatti.
