Roy N. Mong, 100, Mooresville, passed away at Miller's Merry Manor, Mooresville, Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009.
He was born Nov. 18, 1908, in Brazil, to Nick and Cory (McCollough) Mon.
Roy was a 1928 graduate of Staunton High School.
He was a Navy Veteran serving during World War II.
He retired in 1970 from May Development, Ellettsville, where he was a carpenter. Mr. Mong enjoyed woodworking, fishing and gardening.
Mr. Mong is survived by his son Raymond Edward (Jan) Mong, Mooresville, three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel (Brinson) Mong), his parents and a grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, at West and Parrish and Pedigo Funeral Home, Spencer. Elders Ed. Fewell, James Clemmer and Manasseh Gillam will officiate.
Burial will follow at Gross Cemetery where military rites will be performed by the Spencer American Legion and V.F.W. Visitiation will be 2-6 p.m., Sunday.
